What?
Between January 2022 and March 2023 I wrote a sort of memoir entitled "Curriculum Vitæ: a working life story". I'd long had the idea to write a preposterously comprehensive and (if such a thing were possible) entirely honest CV, by way of a "life story" because I thought it might be entertaining and might have artistic merit. So when when I found myself sat down at my desk in 2022 trying to write a CV in order to secure a writing job after years of unemployment, I... allowed myself to get carried away.
Owing to changes in my personal circumstances, in September 2024, I decided to publish the entirety of "Curriculum Vitæ" on this website in instalments, concluding in June 2025.
I've changed all your names in case you were about to accuse me of libelling you. Concerning truth: this memoir should be considered more as a historical source, with all the questions of context, bias, and reliability that that implies, than as a work of creative nonfiction; because it exists outside of a market, and has thus not been subjected to standardization. If you think you've been portrayed herein and misrepresented, I ask you to consider that this text (a CV, after all) primarily exists to make me, the author, look good. All else is secondary.
