Who am I?

I'm Alexander Velky, and this is my website. I'm a professional writer from the UK. Born in The City of a Thousand Trades (AKA Birmingham), I've spent most of my life in Wales.

I've been an English teacher, a music journalist, a wine blogger, a web editor, a social media community manager, and a copywriter. For the past 12 years I've been freelance, working remotely with occasional contract jobs and in-house stints at agencies and big companies.

I speak Welsh (not too badly). I've got an MA (distinction) in Professional Writing from Falmouth University, a BA (1st with Hons) in English from the University of Exeter, a Wine and Spirits Education Trust "intermediate" qualification, and a Lantra Chainsaw Maintenance and Tree Felling certificate. (I can also do DIY.)

I have one wife, two children, and three very small dogs. I keep chickens and goats, and in summer I grow vegetables to feed the slugs. Every now and then, I publish a book of poetry.

In my spare time, I am the King of Landskeria.
