In 2011/12 I worked as a project web editor at Bournemouth University on a small project team tasked with migrating the entire university website on to a new CMS.
As the CMS procurement was still underway at the time my role began, my work mostly involved drawing up requirements for the new CMS by auditing existing web content and information architecture, and by conducting interviews, questionnaires and focus groups with internal and external stakeholders to draw up lists of requirements for each section of the website and to prepare specifications for the new CMS.
I also worked on copy and content guidelines for different areas of the site, and toward the end of the contract (as the new CMS still hadn't been procured) took on copywriting, content production and editing work for a number of sections on the existing website, and social media profiles.
